Happy Anniversary!
Can you guys believe that its already been a year. Your wedding was an amazing demonstration of your love for each other, your life, your family and your friends. Thanks for allowing Expressions to document this wonderful day. Joanna and I hope that your next year is filled with a deepening love for each other that will spread to everyone around you.
Your wedding day will always hold an extra special meaning to be…remember? Just as we were getting ready to shoot the getting ready photos we received a phone call from my daughter saying that she was heading to the hospital to deliver her first born. You guys were so kind and caring, though you had a ton of things on your minds you still took time all during the day to ask me about my Rebecca. Well, Rebecca was just fine and gave birth to my new friend and grandson Max. He’s so cool. So December 29th will hold very special memories for me.
Thanks guys for allowing Joanna and I the wonderful expreience of documenting your special day. But thank you more for your friendship and constant encouragement.

What an amazing Christmas for Expressions…Santa finally arrived late Wednesday evening with a Really LARGE box (no not a big..I’m sure it was a box.) filled with amazing gifts. We just can’t wait to get started shooting and see all the amazing shots we’ll get. We’re heading out to photowalk and put this thing through it’s paces. I’ll try and post some images later this evening.
Way to go Santa…you’re our hero.

Cooper – Grandson #2 On the Way
December 11, 2008 | Category: Photography | Leave a Comment
My first born daughter Rebecca called to let me in on some exciting news. She and Jeff are expecting a SON in May! That’s such exciting news; they were just blessed with their first child Max last December and now this wonderful news. Here’s a bit of the letter she wrote:
Max is very excited that he will have a little brother. As Jan said, they are going to get into so much trouble together…hehe. As for names, we really like Cooper right now. We’ll see what name we end up with. Thank you for all your prayers for little Cooper and our family. God is really blessing us, every day I pinch myself. I just can’t believe what He has given us.
“Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3-5
Here’s Cooper’s first of many portraits…it would have been a much better photo had the hospital hired me to do the shoot … LOL! But considering he’s only about 4 months old I’d say he’s a good lookin guy…just like his brother Max.
Rebecca and Jeff…I’m so proud of you guys, you two are such amazing parents.
Love Ya More — Dad!

My Amazing Friend from Oz…..
October 22, 2008 | Category: Photography | Leave a Comment
For several months now I’ve been reading the writings of one of the most talented teenager I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting. Well sorta meeting….…you see..I met Brook one day while chatting over Skype with her mom (an amazing photog in Oz…). As we were talking Brook came into the room and Kelly introduced us….I’ll never forget Brooks first comment…”get him to talk more, his accent is soooo funny.” I talk funny? I think it was you Brook that said, “howyagoinallright”….yep my friend I’mahavina G’day! I still smile as I remember that day, and meeting a new friend and learning about her blog.
With Brook and Kelly’s help I’ve learned all kinds of interesting words like:
- Bloke: a man or guy
- Bloody: (not the red liquid in your vains) use this in the place of the word “very”. Example…That’s a bloody good photograph of Brook.
- Aranga: a girl with red hair..a reference to my daughter Rebecca.
I’m still not convinced that she believes me when I tell her we really do have indoor plumbing and wear shoes here in Tennessee. LOL!
Brooks writing will warm your heart and help you see the world through the eyes of a seventeen year old. In a recent post Brook writes, “I catch public transport to and from school, a burden bestowed upon me from some horrible deed I committed in a past life I’m sure.”
Brook; you’re insight into the world around you is so much fun to read ….I couldn’t help but laugh as I read your account of riding on the bus…..
“I catch public transport to and from school, a burden bestowed upon me from some horrible deed I committed in a past life I’m sure. I liken riding the bus to the experience of being trapped inside of
a schizophrenic persons mind. You get on and are instantly presented with 30 different people all with their own story that they will, eventually, tell you while they’ve got you boxed in and trapped up against the window side of the seat. I’ve sat next to all walks of life, stoners who think they need to point out the wonderful patterns in the bus seats, alcoholics who secretly sip beer out of what they think is a cleverly disguised beer bottle in a brown paper bag, and a particularly large woman who always smells like urine and likes to lean over you and look at what songs your listening to on your ipod or what your writing in your text message….”
When you get a chance…check out her blog, you’ll be amazed and delighted at her wonderful writing and insightfulness into the world she lives in. Click Here to visit Brooks blog…”The Musings of Evie Walcott”.
Hey Brook…here’s wishing you a bloody g’day my friend and good onya all the time.

Krysta..You’re a beautiful bride.
September 29, 2008 | Category: Photography, Wedding | Leave a Comment
We left Knoxville around lunch time to make the two and a half hour drive over to Sylva, NC. We met with Krysta, her mom and aunt at the old Jackson County Courthouse. The day was a bit overcast but there was nothing overcast about this bride…she was full of sunshine. Krysta is a beautiful lady with a beautiful smile. The end of October we’ll make another drive over to Sylva to shoot her wedding day, but for now turn up the volume and enjoy a few of the shots from this past Saturday.
